Being a Canadian, I honestly don't see the appeal of politicizing someone's childhood, but who am I to doubt the American Way? Still, if I were an American parent, I'm sure that the review by Kyleigh Grulke (age 5), would sell me the picture book faster than a positive review by the New York Times

I personally rather enjoy the fact that the protective elephant is about to stomp all over that flasher in the background, in his big overcoat and sunglasses. CREEPY!

It works on multiple levels. It means that the Democrats wants to protect of from pedophiles, whereas the GOP wants to smash them with their elephant army.

The elephant generally doesn't strike me as a vicious evil creature that you would need protection from. I suppose it can be used as one, but I see elephants at circuses, like everyone else.
Also, please tell us what is going on with Orangecat/S. Thank you.

Serpent: I regret to inform you that we've found out this week that Orangecat/S has passed on. He was hit by a charter bus running a red light on the main drag of his hometown late at night when returning home for work. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family.
Glad to see you and David keeping MKZ alive as I've been too busy/lazy to Rob! Now update RoBlog as well!

No problem-o. I've made it a goal of mine that while I have some free time during the breakup that I'd update both MKZ and my blog daily. So far, I've done just that. So check 'em both out.

Mike: That...is terrible. He was a truly good guy. I had lost contact with him awhile back, I used to speak to him on AIM and at a couple of messageboards we both frequented, then all of a sudden I just never saw him anymore. I know people sometimes dissappear for a period of time, so I waited for him to show up again. Obviously he never did, and now I know why. It always seems like the good people are taken from us the quickest. Mike, thank you for letting me know. I hope he's in a better place now.

Mike,
While we're sad to hear your news, many of us can't help but wonder if there is any more information about the incident you mentioned, such as your source, online newspaper articles, etc.
Anything you could provide us with would be helpful. Thanks.

Sorry Serpent and 9tnine. I was just fucking with you. I have no idea what he's up to, or what's going on with him.
It's not true.
To my knowledge he's perfectly fine. I'm sorry if I upset you.

We've heard back from him. Thanks for treating a serious topic like a joke though.
